SocialTwist Tell-a-Friend

malla-n-farah2

Farah Khan and Malaika have combined once again for the 3rd time to create celluloid magic

for Arbaaz Khan Production film directed by Abhinav kashyap titled DABANGG…

Malaika made her film debut in Mani Ratnam’s film ” DIL SE ” with Shahrukh Khan for a song

CHAIYYA CHAIYYA choreographed by Farah and together they created history…

Years later the trio Shahrukh , Farah and Malaika did another song for Karan Johar’s film KAAL …

Now 5 years hence Farah and Malaika come together but this time its with Salman Khan in my film DABANGG !

The song ” MUNNI BADNAAM HUI ” is a racy item song composed by Lalit Pandit and im sure its going to be a chart buster.

We have shot the song on a huge lavish set in mumbai with massive crowds to create the right ambiance. I firmly believe that a hit song always helps in bringing in large audiences to

the movie halls and with this song i hope the right buzz would be created..

The song ” Munni badnaam hui ” is going to be a rage and one of the biggest hits of 2010… Inshallah !!!

hey guys !!!

This week…

SocialTwist Tell-a-Friend

Well lots happened this week, on the 2nd of march malaika and me were in Delhi to shoot for a show anchored by Soha ali khan.

It’s a game show which is aired on star plus,  we really had a great time shooting it. All that we won on the show went to a charity called Karuna welfare that takes care of destitute kids..

My son Arhaan’s school re-opened on the 3rd august and he moved to grade 2, after a long vacation it was nice to see him get excited to go back to school without any fuss.

This year he has his best friend subhan with him in his class , they both are a handful together so the teachers have a job on hand to control them..

This 3rd of August also happens to be my sister Arpita’s 21st birthday , she had her party at Taj lands end , it was a rocking night.

4th of august was my birthday so we brought in my birthday also the same night with family and friends.. Everybody was having a great time, my music directors sajid-wajid

carried one of the tracks recorded for my film and played it at the party, the response was amazing, everybody just swarmed the dance floor,it  just reinstated my belief

that i have a popular and hit track.. inshalllah !!!

RUNAWAY MAID !!!

SocialTwist Tell-a-Friend

1My wife and son got back from london today, they had stayed back for 2 more weeks, unfortunately i had to rush back because of some commitments regarding my film.

We had taken arhaan’s nanny along with us for the trip, she had worked with us for over a year and we had employed her through an agency.

She came highly recommended and had worked as a maid before with an indian family in Russia with no complaints.

Ever since she joined us she worked efficiently and patiently with arhaan, his  previous nanny had to leave the job because of health reasons,

i always felt whether my son would ever be able to adjust to his new nanny as his previous one was there since he was 4 months old.

But to our surprise arhaan had taken well to her and she loved taking care of him as well. This new nanny’s name is Jackin fernandes and she hails from belgaum in

karnataka, she’s married with a 6 year old daughter. Her husband Raymond fernandes works as a welder cum fabricator

in dubai since last 10 years.. Jackin in the last one year has travelled with us to a number of places including Dubai and Singapore.

This time we took her along with us to London too, we began to to trust her completely,  only for her to shatter all our faith and trust in her in a second.

Just two days before malaika was returning, jackin was with the kids in a near by park , she was also entrusted with the apartment keys. That day she left for the apartment on the pretext of getting a jacket for my son arhaan as it had got a bit nippy but dint return. Malaika kept calling

the phone she was given but there was no answer. When malaika went to the apartment to check,  there was nobody there , jackin’s phone was lying on the ground and

she was nowhere in sight.  Malaika panicked. She noticed jackin’s  suitcase was also not there, her passport had been kept with us safely in another bag

under lock and key. When she opened the bag she saw jackin’s passport missing, it soon became evident that jackin had left. There were valuables and some money

too lying in the bag but she stole nothing, all she wanted to do is get away and she had meticulously planned it. My maid is not the first one

to vanish in london, apparently even karisma kapoor , saif ali khan and recently juhi chawla also faced a similar situation, each of these maids left without

a trace. It obviously seems to be modus operandi of these people to to use the opputunity to believe they have a better life in a foreign country, but at what risk.

Since jackin was given a visa because we sponsored her visit, we had to inform the police of the happening. Unfortunately this  illegal immigrant situation is very

rampant in London. We have provided all the neccessary details to the authorities, if she ever gets tracked down she will surely be deported but i guess  not before she

has worked there long enough and made the money she desired. She was a good worker and took great care of arhaan as long as she was there.

Though malaika and me are upset with what happened we still wish her well and hope she’s safe and happy where ever she is.

Back in mumbai !

SocialTwist Tell-a-Friend

Well im back and hope to resume my blogging , it became impossible for me to find time while i was on vacation with my family and to be regular with my post.

Sometimes i wonder how BIG B writes with such regularity in spite of having such a busy schedule, i guess he just loves connecting with his fans through his blog

and vice verse. Right after i got back i had to get into the swing of things as far as my maiden home production is concerned. In the next few months i start shooting

for the film. Right now im in the pre production stage , finalising artists, technicians, locations etc. Though most of it is almost done i still i have a lot on my plate before

the  film starts. This new role as a producer is very exciting and challenging. As a producer ive  realized one has to develop man-management skills because one deals

with a number of people on various issues. Phew… its tiring at times but iam still on a learning curve.

My film’s titled DABANGG a typical uttar pradesh term meaning FEARLESS, deals with people who defy norms and make their own path in life without worrying about

the consequences. More about the cast and generally about the the film i shall be letting you all know soon…

I also start shooting for a promotional video for the film kisaan, which is due for release mid this month. Sohail has remixed the evergreen patriotic track

” Mere desh ki dharti “  The song has been sung by Daler mehndi and he too will be part of this peppy hip hop version of the song.

Hoping that this version too become rage especially with the youngsters.. Well i have few rehearsals before the shoot, so i have to rush.

Hope to be updating you all with my thoughts, ideas , views etc etc . BYE FOR NOW…

Sunny days…

SocialTwist Tell-a-Friend

London weather has been amazing last few days, bright and sunny and will continue to be the same i believe,

but like they say one can never be  sure about the london weather, women , he he he. Strangely london at this time of year always makes

you feel at home because of the number of people one bumps into at various places like cafe’s, theatres, streets, pubs, clubs,

while shopping, infact almost everywhere. Just the other day i was out sipping a hot cup of coffee at starbucks, next to where

iam staying when i heard somebody scream ” ARBAAZ “  i turned around and see my friend Sanjay kapoor on the opposite side

sitting with another friend and having coffee, small world…

Later that evening Malaika and me went to see this extremely funny

and outrageous comedy film  ” HANGOVER “  the movie kept us in splits, it was one of the funniest films i have seen in a long long time.

Right now malaika and my sister in law have taken the kids to the euro disney in paris, this is my sons third visit to disneyland in 3 years

The 1st was hong kong then last year was los angeles and now paris, honestly i couldn’t do it anymore so excused myself from the trip

though i would have loved to go to paris for a few days.  Now that iam still in london will hope to see a good tennis match at the wimbledon.

Will try see some nice center court games, it will really complete my london trip….

Final day !!!

SocialTwist Tell-a-Friend

What a coincidence , this is the second world cup final im watching at lords and both featuring pakistan.

The last one was the 50 over world cup pakistan played against australia and this time 20-20 final against sri lanka.

I remember i flew from frankfurt only to see the final that year, this year i was hoping to see India in the final but it was

not meant to be. Though the indian fans are extremely disappointed by the lacklustre performance by india , the cricket lovers

will still see a great contest between lanka and pakistan. lanka has been clinical and consistent and pakistan has been brillant yet unpredictable,

one still doesn’t know which pakistan team will turn up. After the attack on the lankan team in pakistan this march their meeting so soon

in finals of such a huge competition speaks a lot about their character.  Pakistan almost won the title last time had it not been for the miscued

shot by misbah ul haq but this time they would like to get it right. This final im sitting on the fence and not making a prediction as my heart say

pakistan and mind says lanka. So im just going to soak in the atmosphere at the ground and guzzle a few beers… CHEERS !!!!

London bound…

SocialTwist Tell-a-Friend

indian-team1 Hey guys,

i will be off to london with family for a vacation.

May not be regular with my  post as i will be travelling a bit,

but hope to resume blog activities soon.

Iam excited as i would probably be seeing the 20-20 semis

and finals at the   ground.

Lets hope india beats england today so the chances are better for their semi

final berth, south africa look like potential winners

but nothing like an india pak final…

take care..

Leander paes… “The unsung hero”

SocialTwist Tell-a-Friend

31paes1 What happens when you win a 20-20 world cup? Nothing much just that the whole country is in euphoria

and the city in which the players arrive is besieged by the media and then there is a public procession of the

players who are made to stand atop open buses and paraded all around the city with cheering public throwing

flower petals on them as though they have won a war. So much of importance to a game played by only

8 countries realistically. Cricketers are loved, admired, idolised even bestowed arjuna awards earlier than

sportsman from other fields. Raising cricket or cricketers to a demi god status is not my problem

but the lack of importance attached to sport personalities who consistently achieve on the international stage

is the worrying thing.

Here is where i would like to mention about one Mr Leander paes who for over a decade has been bringing

laurels to our country in a sport that is tough, competitive and played worldwide.  Not only has he won

a bronze medal at the atlanta olympics in 1996 he has won around 40 doubles titles with various partners.

The last title he won was at the French open 2009 along with lukas dlouhy , he has won 9 grand slam titles

in all, 5 in doubles and 4 in mixed doubles. So what kind of welcome does he get after winning a grand slam,

well simple, he arrives quietly gets into his car and drives home without much fuss and fanfare. That’s our idea of a heroes welcome to achievers in sports other than

cricket. Think about it,  does’nt a sportman like him need to be elevated to the stature of a sachin, saurav, dravid, sehwag or a yuvraj? In my opinion yes..

This is in spite of the fact that i love cricket more than any sport, even tennis. Let’s not honour and acknowledge our heroes after its too late ,

Leander has made the country proud on a number of occassions so lets value his contribution.

Below is his grand slam record so judge for yourself. WELL DONE LEANDER !!!
